Named entity: A word or a sequence of words that is classified for example as name of a person, location, or organization. A named entity may also be e.g. a date or a quantity.
Natural language processing (NLP): A subfield of artificial intelligence and linguistics that studies the problems of automated generation and understanding of human languages.
Natural language understanding systems convert samples of human language into more formal representations that are easier for computer programs to process.
Noun phrase: A phrase, where the head word is a noun which may be preceeded or followed by modifiers. Connexor has a software that identifes noun phrases.
